The South Pacific Memorial Park is dedicated to the memory of those that suffered and died during the struggles of World War II . It is situated on the site of Japan's last command post, before their eventual defeat. On the premises is a 50-foot abstract monument that depicts hands in prayer. There are also remains of Japanese soldiers buried at the site. A Buddhist temple and priest also make the site their home, as they pray for the departed.
